COVID19 UPDATE No3

Nobody knows what the next few months will bring but I want to update you on what we are doing to ensure we can continue to take care of our patients.

The Covid-19 crisis is changing rapidly and, make no mistake, it IS serious.

Many people with a coronavirus infection do not have symptoms, but may pass the infection to others. In order to protect ourselves and our patients from spreading the virus we have closed the practice for all but emergency and urgent appointments.

Please do not attend the practice unless you have an appointment.

Ophthalmology and Optometry are classed as a high-risk specialities due to the unavoidable close proximity to the eye.
As an ACES practice we have a duty to help reduce the burden on GP and Eye clinics, but we have to balance that with the safety of ourselves and our patients. We will continue to offer emergency and urgent eye care via appointment, unless it can be managed by telephone or video call.

We will also be available for telephone consultations for all of our Eyeplan patients.

All routine eye examinations or contact lens care appointments have been postponed until normal service can resume.

If however you are having problems with your vision, have lost or broken your glasses or are experiencing any other situation where you need our help, then we will do everything possible to ensure we take care of you.

if you have spectacles currently on order these will be posted to you as soon as they arrive. If you need any adjustments these can be made once we are back to normal.
If you need supplies of contact lenses or solutions, these will be posted to you.

To request any of these services please email me on Sarah@SGOeyecare.co.uk

If you are unable to email please call the practice on 01963 34333 for an emergency contact number.

By taking these steps now, I am confident we will continue to provide the high standard of service you have always received.

My staff and I are supporting each other throughout this crisis and I know we are all looking forward to welcoming you back to the practice in better times.

Thank you for your support and best wishes for your well being

Sarah Gibson
