With all the uncertainty at the moment due to the pandemic we would like to reassure all our patients that we are monitoring the situation on a daily basis and will respond accordingly. As a small business we are lucky in that we can respond very rapidly to changing circumstances. Our first priority is safety: ours and yours.
At the time of writing we are still open, still all OK and COVID-19 free – long may this continue.
If you have a pre-existing health problem that makes you more vulnerable to the effects of this virus please, please STAY AT HOME. This is not only to protect yourself but to protect the NHS from an unnecessary surge in people needing intensive care. Please remember that if they are treating people with COVID-19 they may not be able to treat people with other life threatening emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, accidents or aggressive cancers. These things will not stop happening just because we are fighting this pandemic!
Whilst we are still seeing patients we would ask anyone who does not have any specific difficulties with their vision, spectacles or contact lenses to consider if their appointment is strictly necessary. An eye examination, by its very nature, involves a certain amount of close contact and we are being advised to take Social Distancing measures.
If it’s just a routine check and you are not having any particular problems then we would recommend that you postpone your appointment until Social Distancing is no longer recommended. If you have to cancel your appointment due to COVID-19 we will make sure you are on our priority list for an appointment when things get back to normal.
If you wear contact lenses and are not having any difficulties with your lenses we can, due to the unusual circumstances, order lenses for you even if you are due for a contact lens aftercare. If you are running out of lenses please get in touch.
We are sorry to advise that we are not currently able to register new patients, except for emergency ACES appointments.
As an established business we hope to be able to weather this storm and still be here when things are back to normal. We hope to see you all sooner rather than later!
Stay safe, Stay healthy and keep positive.
